Speaking practice for working professionals
Speak up in meetings with confidence
You read English docs easily and follow most meetings, but freeze when it is your turn to talk? The gap is rarely vocabulary. It is real speaking time and ready-made phrases you can say instantly.
The method: speak more, at the right time
Learn in chunks
Learn whole phrases like "My concern is that…" rather than single words. Meetings leave no time to assemble sentences.
Spaced repetition
Review just before you forget, and say the answer out loud instead of just reading it.
Shadowing
Listen to a short line and speak along almost at the same time to train rhythm and reflexes.
The 4/3/2 technique
Talk about one topic in 4, then 3, then 2 minutes. The time limit pushes your fluency.
A 4-stage roadmap
- 1
Surviving meetings
Give standup updates, ask for clarification.
- 2
Giving opinions
Share opinions, agree and disagree politely.
- 3
Explaining tech
Present architecture, demo, handle questions.
- 4
Debating & leading
Push back, negotiate trade-offs, lead meetings.
30 minutes a day, at least 15 of them speaking out loud
- 5 min phrase review
- 10 min shadowing
- 10 min topic speaking
- 5 min listen back and fix
Work scenarios
Daily standup
